Infrared Photography

Infrared photography uses filters to block out and enhance certain colors in the visual spectrum, creating surreal, dreamlike images with a lurid appearance known as the "Wood Effect". The technique dates back to the early 1900s, first appearing in the October 1910 edition of the Royal Photographic Society Journal to illustrate a paper by Robert W. Wood, who discovered these unusual affects (which were named after him). The attributes of infrared photos include very dark skies and an atmospheric haze.
